Education in Faith

The history of faith education at Our Lady of the Assumption has its beginnings in the opening of Our Lady of the Assumption School on its current site, in February 1952, under the pastoral and educational care of the Brigidine Sisters.

Each year, as a part of our ongoing faith formation, parishioners have the opportunity to join one of a number of Lenten reflection groups. These groups work their way through a selected Lenten Program prepared for parish use across the dioceses of Australia.

Parents of children enrolled in our parish school will, along with their children, have the opportunity to deepen their faith through parent-child Sacramental preparation meetings and workshops, coordinated both by school staff and parish staff and volunteer catechists.

The RCIA is another important annual exploration of the faith journey of those of both non-baptised and other Christian backgrounds, seeking to formally find their home among God’s people, in the Catholic Church .
